Olga Streyar (née Kotel) was born in Tihany, Hungary on March 23, 1937 and died August 3, 2017 in Tucson. She was married to, and is survived by, the love of her life, Myron Streyar of Slovenia, for fifty-nine years. Mrs. Streyar had four wonderful children: Attila, Anna Maria (Franco Madotto), Gabriella (William Homer) and Robert (Kimberly). She also had seven grandchildren, whom she loved very much: Nicholas, Adam, Clayton, Isabella, Taylor, Lily and Erica; and two great-granddaughters, Beatrice and Ariel. Indeed, the most important thing to Olga was the deep love she felt for her family. She was a greatly courageous lady and her husband and family will deeply miss her, beyond imagination. Mrs. Streyar was very well-known in Tucson for having two ladies boutiques, Continental Elegance and Olga’s Bridal, both located on Broadway. Olga loved her profession as a seamstress and designer and worked for fifty-five years, until she could no longer thread a needle. Mrs. Streyar frequently entertained many loving friends, who will miss her terribly. She loved to travel and saw the world many times over, being interested in all cultures of the world. Olga was a Hungarian folk dancer and member of the Tucson Meet Yourself for twenty-nine years. For twelve years, Mrs. Streyar enjoyed cooking Hungarian food for all of the wonderful people of Tucson, during the annual event. She also belonged to the German American Club of Tucson for many years. In addition to her love and appreciation of flowers, Olga took great joy in her pets, including her Scottish terrier, Bebe. May her many beloved pets will be there to welcome her, as she crosses the great divide. The family wishes to thank hospice, specifically Peppi’s House, for their care and deep compassion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 5150 N. Valley View Road.
