Martha Rose Beard

Martha was a loving, sweet spirit whose smile would brighten anyone’s day. She was an avid reader and educator. After earning her Undergraduate and Graduate Degrees in Education, she spent 29 years teaching 4th, and later 5th grade in Wilmette, Illinois. She was a very creative soul who loved music, the arts and gardening. She was also a consummate seamstress and quilt maker. Her gentleness and loving kindness will be remembered always.

Martha is survived by her beloved children, Ellen Trueblood, Margaret Trueblood, and Jim (Dianne) Trueblood; her brother, Nicholas Wetzel; Grandchildren Josie Trueblood, Chelsea Benson, Taylor Trueblood, Victoria (Joseph) Kuchenbrod, and great grandchildren Nolan, Brynlee, Colson, Peyton, Avery, and Joseph. Also, stepchildren Carla (Paul) Marks and Lory (Otto) Reinisch; and grandchildren Daniel (Mary) Reinisch; Andrew (Anna) Marks, Michael (Emily) Reinisch, and great grandchildren Briella, Olivia and Henry.

She was predeceased by her husband, Dennis Beard; her parents Zanta and Dorothy Wetzel; siblings Dorothy Otterbein, Sue Grasso, and Laura Wetzel; and son, Eric Trueblood.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 6th at 2:00PM at Arroyo Gardens, Green Valley, AZ where she had been a resident for the past year and a half.
