Joanne Frances Holdrege passed away at Woodland Palms Memory Care in Tucson Arizona on February 9, 2025. She is survived by her husband James Lacey, daughter Shelagh McClure in Montreal, son Sean McClure in Australia, grandchildren Ceilidh and Flynn in Montreal, grandchildren Jack and Billie in Australia, and brother Tom Holdrege in Cobleskill, New York. She was predeceased by her parents Richard Harry and Frances Martha (nee Campbell) Holdrege of Afton, New York. Born in Afton, she graduated from SUNY Fredonia. She lived and worked in upstate New York, Nova Scotia, Montreal, Florida, and Tucson. She was very talented and creative. She spun wool, painted Pysanky Easter eggs, and made collage art and a bronze sculpture among other things. She worked mainly in retail but had other interesting jobs like drafting log homes, managing a theater company, and care giving. She wasn't afraid to try risky ventures like real estate or her own shortbread business. She loved planning trips to places like France, Italy, Yosemite, Mesa Verde, Santa Fe, and the Grand Canyon.
