Janyce Karen Munson

Reverend Janyce Karen Munson, 76, peacefully rode home Tuesday, October 17, 2023 in Tucson, AZ, her home of 45 years.

Born February 2, 1947 in Erie, PA, Jan was the daughter of Ken and Ellen (Heintz) Munson. She graduated from Orchard Park Central School in 1965. Jan was married briefly to A. Rupert Kettle, Jr., a percussionist.

Jan attended Davenport Business College in Grand Rapids and became a Certified Caregiver in 2005. She also studied Spiritual Healing Arts and became a reverend with Fellowship of the Spirit Church in Lily Dale, NY. Jan was the Co-Founder of the Tucson Astrologers’ Guild and was an active volunteer in Therapeutic Riding, the Humane Society, Girl Scouts and 4H clubs.

A horse woman all her life, Jan got her first pony at age 6 and won her last blue ribbon in April 2023. Her adventurous spirit took her to Tucson where she started “All 4’s Academy”, a horse riding and dog training facility, where she gave daily private and group lessons and summer camps. Jan excelled in intuitive inter species communication.

Carrying on tradition from her grandmother, Jan was love, a spiritual, metaphysical being who loved rock music, camping and hiking and gemstone jewelry design. Jan was survived by her Pony and her loving companion AkuAku and her extensive family and friends.As per her wishes, her ashes will be scattered at full gallop by her trusted friend, mentor and teacher.
