He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane; children Jenna Wrobel and Zachary Wrobel; daughter-in-law Julia Martin-Wrobel; grandsons Roman Wrobel and Noah Ketcham; sister Yvonne Hansen; and
stepchildren Jennifer Ketcham-Crooks, Alyssa Ketcham, and James Ketcham. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Angeline Wrobel of Tucson. Born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Duane moved with his family to Tucson in 1948. He attended Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School and Salpointe High School, earning All-City, All-State, and All-American honors in football. He began college at the University of Colorado, Boulder, on a football scholarship but returned to Tucson after an injury, completing a Business Administration degree at the University of Arizona. Duane first married Janice Fuller, raising their two children in Moraga, California. In 2008, he married Diane, and together they built a life in
Tucson, San Diego, and Kihei, Hawaii, where Duane fully embraced the aloha spirit. A meticulous and trusted accountant, Duane ran a successful practice with Diane, forming lasting relationships with clients. Though he briefly explored real estate, his passion remained in accounting. Later in life, Duane reconnected with his faith and became an active volunteer at St. Philip’s Church of the Foothills in Tucson, offering his time and warmth to the community.
A memorial service will be held on April 26, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Church of the Foothills in Tucson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church in Duane’s memory. Duane will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. His spirit lives on in all the hearts he
touched.
