

Charles C. Patterson passed away on Sunday, June 2nd after an extended illness. He was born in Morenci, AZ on July 17th, 1944 to Cecil and Leona (nee Williams) Patterson, and grew up in the mining town of Morenci. After graduating from Morenci High School in 1962 he moved to Tucson to pursue a pharmacology degree at The University of Arizona.
Charles married his high school sweetheart, and love of his life, Joan Ray on July 11th, 1964. Over the next 6 decades they lovingly raised two children while Charles built a successful career as a local pharmacist. After owning and operating an independent pharmacy for more than 10 years, he accepted a position with K-Mart pharmacies, where he was beloved by his co-workers and customers alike until his retirement in 2006.
Charles is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Joan, and their two children, Kelly (Jeff) Kirwan, Steven (Joncie) Patterson, as well as three grandchildren, Bri Kirwan, Lilia Patterson, and Wyatt Patterson. He also leaves his sister, Reva Thompson, brother-in-law Ron (Nancy) Ray and 4 nephews.
A celebration of his extraordinary life will be held at Broadway Proper on Saturday, June 22nd at 11:30am. 400 S Broadway Place, Tucson AZ, 85710
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society of Southern Arizona or the Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption.
