

Allen L Pirro , 78, passed into eternal rest on June 3, 2023, in Tucson, AZ. Allen is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lucy (Bland) Pirro, his daughter, Alison Pirro Lundqvist (Jonas), Brussels, Belgium, his son, Geoffrey Pirro (Stephanie), Tucson, AZ, and five grandchildren, Charles Pirro, Vivian Pirro, Jocelyn Pirro, Mallory Pirro all of Tucson and Philip Lundqvist, Brussels, Belgium.
Allen was a 1966 graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York, with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering. He became a licensed Professional Engineer in New York State in July 1971. He began his work career at Carrier Corporation, Syracuse, New York and in 1986 took a new work path at ETL, Cortland, New York, which later became Intertek. A high point of his career was living in Sweden for almost two years, making lifetime friends and traveling internationally with his wife. He was a member of many national and international committees during his work career. He retired in 2021 from Intertek.
Allen loved his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed working on cars and doing woodworking and metal work on his milling machine and lathe. When Lucy’s rolling machine needed new gears, he milled them for her. He also built a 20-ton press for her jewelry making. He was an amazing husband, father, Papa/Grandad and friend. He will be greatly missed!
