Marjorie Bambach

Marjorie Ryan Bambach, 89, passed away on October 27, 2025, in Wilsonville, Oregon. Born on December 2, 1935, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she lived a life filled with love, spiritualism and devotion to her family.

Marjorie had an artistic soul and found great joy in painting. She spent countless hours at her easel, took numerous art classes, and held a special affection for the Art Institute of Chicago. She also enjoyed knitting hats, scarves, and socks for family and friends, as well as needlepoint, cooking, collecting seashells on Florida beaches, and exploring the beauty of nature. Whether hiking scenic trails, pursuing new creative endeavors, or enjoying card games with friends, she embraced life with enthusiasm, an open heart, and a deep devotion to her faith. Her generous spirit and unwavering faith were guiding lights to all who knew her. Marjorie's warm smile and joyful laugh could brighten any room, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Above all else, Marjorie cherished her family. She is survived by her son, Gene Bambach; her granddaughter, Donna Sicilia, and her husband, Michael; her great-grandchildren, CJ and Mikey; her son, James Bambach, and granddaughters, Jesse and Devin; as well as many treasured nieces, whom she loved as if they were her own daughters.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene F. Ryan; her mother, Elizabeth Ryan; her brothers, Thomas Ryan and Eugene Ryan Jr.; her sister, Elizabeth Imlah; her loving husband, Peter J. Bambach; her beloved son, Peter Michael Bambach; and her daughter-in-law, Theresa J. Bambach.

Marjorie’s kindness, warmth, and love for life will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.

Family and friends are invited to gather as we honor Marjorie through the scattering of her ashes. Details to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Marjorie’s memory to support The Art Institute of Chicago or to help restore Oregon forests damaged from wildfires by planting a tree.
