It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Lynn Birdsall, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Sue was born on October 28, 1941 in Los Angeles and passed away on February 15, 2025.
Sue married the love of her life, Ken, in 1961 and together they built a marriage that spanned a remarkable 63 years. Their partnership was a shining example of mutual devotion, respect, and companionship. They raised their family surrounded by faith and with a deep appreciation for togetherness.
Throughout her life, Sue channeled her creativity and care into many passions. On her wedding day, Sue proudly wore a gown she sewed herself – a testament to her extraordinary seamstress skills. Sue also possessed a warm and generous spirit. She was a wonderful hostess who delighted in bringing people together around her table, and created an atmosphere of laughter and love at every gathering. Together with Ken they started a gourmet supper club with close friends in Ventura. In later years Sue and Ken enjoyed researching their ancestry and genealogy.
Professionally, Sue used her passion for exploration as a travel agent, reveling in opportunities to journey near and far. She found great joy in discovering new places with her family and helping others do the same. Sue also enjoyed her time spent in physical activity including water aerobics, tennis, and more recently, taking walks with Ken in the marina.
In her community, Sue was an active member of P.E.O. and a longtime member of Community Presbyterian Church, where Sue served faithfully as an usher. She cherished her church community and took pride in contributing wherever she could, sharing her unwavering faith and kindness with those around her.
Sue will be remembered for her generous heart, her devotion to her family, and her beautiful and radiant smile. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. The family wishes to express their gratitude for all the support and condolences during this difficult time.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ken Birdsall, son and daughter-in-law Scott and Suzanne Birdsall of Ventura, daughter and son-in-law Cam and Joseph Walkuski of Bozeman, Montana, and four grandchildren, Eric Birdsall, Siena Reed, Grace Walkuski, and Will Walkuski.
