Randele Cameron Blum passed away on February 26, 2026 at the age of 71. Randy was born on September 23, 1954 in Englewood New Jersey. She spent most of her childhood in various cities throughout New Jersey. Randele, or Randy for short, also lived in Cherry Grove Ohio, Toms River NJ and Bergenfield NJ, where she would graduate from high school in 1972.
It was while living there she was introduced to her future husband, Robert C Blum, through her lifelong best friend Susie Puglis (Seay). They were married on beautiful day in Palisades Park, at the top of the hill, overlooking the George Washington Bridge and New York City on April 21, 1979. Soon after getting married the two settled in a small house in Ringwood NJ. On February 11, 1981 she gave birth to their first daughter at Englewood Hospital, Kirsten Cameron, the same hospital she was born in 27 years earlier.
In late spring 1982 the family moved to Rochester Hills, Michigan because of Robert’s job promotion within the Volkswagen Group of America. It was a few years later that they welcomed their second daughter, Jessica Nicole, on January 31, 1984 at Rochester Hospital. Randy kept herself busy with her two girls and got involved with volunteering at their schools, including becoming a PTA member and church.
In February 1992 the family was on the move again and this time headed out west to Moorpark, California. Randy got a job working for the Moorpark School District as a paraprofessional in Special Education.
One of her greatest relationships in life was with Jesus. She became a devout member of Moorpark Presbyterian Church. For many years she served as a moderator to the board of deacons, planned weddings, was a program writer as well as a Sunday school teacher. Her favorite hymns include Old Rugged Cross and How Great Thou Art.
Randy wore many hats throughout her life, besides being a housewife and mother. She worked as a bank teller, managing saleswoman and real estate sales representative. She loved reading, going to the beach, taking long drives with Rob, creative projects and spending time with her family. She had an incredible sense of humor and loved making others laugh. She also loved to the opportunity to decorate for any holiday, especially Christmas. One of her favorite sayings was, …”life is not measured by the number of breathes you take, but by the moments that take your breath away”.
Randy leaves behind her devoted and loving husband Rob of almost 46 years, daughters Kirsten and Jessica, her five grandchildren, her beloved sister Cindy Mims and brother-in-law Ed of Austin, Texas and brother-in-law Brad Blum of Winter Park Florida.
As the sun set on what would have been their 47th wedding anniversary, April 21, 2026, twenty-four family members and friends boarded a boat to say one final goodbye and spread her ashes in the ocean. This was to honor her wishes to end the final chapter of her life. A celebration of life will be planned for later this year.
