Mary Ann Berschy was born December 12, 1928, to Theodore & Olga Bertschy in Sheboygan, WI.
She loved the fact she shared a birthday with Frank Sinatra.
Mary went to Sheboygan High School, and graduated in in 1944.
At the start of the Korean conflict, she enlisted in the Air Force where she met her future husband, Robert Kremp. They settled in Manhattan Beach, CA and lived there several years during the 1950’s. They divorced, and Mary lead a single life style living in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, and many years in Chicago & San Francisco (her favorite). She finally settled back in Los Angeles.
Her diverse career took her through many challenges, mostly working within the hotel reservation industry. Back in the day, she worked with the Sands, Sahara, Dunes, Stardust…and finally Hilton Hotels.
Mary Ann loved her animals; she was never without a dog or cat or several of them at once. She was a profound activist for capturing/neutering/releasing feral cats back into their safe habitat, but not letting them reproduce – she would buy giant bags of cat food, load them in her car and feed the cats daily, they would come running hearing the engine of her car. Hundreds… it was amazing.
Mary loved her family, and we loved her deeply. She will be missed, terribly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and elder sisters Dorothy, Theadora, and Billie June.
She is survived by her nephew Michael Nick (Jean), her niece Catherine Milne (Eric), her Great-nephew Jack Nick, and Great-niece Patricia McNamee. Along with Great-Great niece Leanne Tyson, and Great-Great nephews, Michael & Jake Nick, and Kevin McNamee.
Mary Ann has been cremated, and her ashes will be cared for by her family and disturbed as per her wishes.
Fly free Mary Ann, your freedom is the one thing you always treasured…
