Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother
January 16, 1969 – September 8, 2025
Kimberly Ann Burris passed away on September 8, 2025, in Ventura, California. She was 56 years old.
Kim was born on January 16, 1969, in Santa Paula, California.
Her Family moved to Visalia in 1976, where she began second grade at Veva Blunt Elementary, and continued through Green Acres Junior High, and graduated from Redwood High School in 1987.
Growing up, Kim was always on the move – skating, playing soccer, riding horses. She threw herself into everything with full enthusiasm and sometimes paid the price. A broken arm from skating, a dislocated knee on the soccer field, and another broken arm from horseback riding. But she always bounced back. She was too tough to keep down.
After graduating, Kim moved to Ventura County, where she was surrounded by her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins – a return to family roots that brought her comfort and joy. Not long after settling in, she met Larry Burris. They were married in 1994 and in the same year she gave birth to identical twin daughters, Hayley Deanna and Madison Ann.
Kim cherished her girls from the moment they arrived. It was clear to everyone that she was meant to be a mother. She often said she could not decide which brought her more happiness – marriage or motherhood – because both filled her life with love.
In 2012, Kim survived a brain stem stroke that profoundly changed her physical abilities. Though she could no longer walk or speak from Locked- In Syndrome, her mind remained sharp and intact. She remembered everyone she had known and everything she had experienced. Communicating through blinking and eye movements, Kim still found ways to connect, and her infectious laugh never faded. Updates about old school friends and cherished memories always brought her much joy. Kim’s resilience, joy, and deep sense of connection never left her.
Kim is survived by her husband of 31 years, Larry Burris, and their daughters, Hayley and Madison. She is also survived by her mother, Beverly Webb; her brother, Joe Webb (Darci); and her sisters, Peggy Vedenoff (Sean) and Tina Faulkner (Rick). Her nieces and nephews – Ashley Webb, Lexi Webb, Andrew Webb, and Connor Faulkner – held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Helen Michl and Woodrow and Zola Webb; her father, Wendell Webb; and her niece, Brittney Webb.
She was deeply loved and will be fiercely missed.
