Kathy Shryack passed peacefully and gracefully in the early hours of January 9, 2026, surrounded by love and comfort. She was a gentle, kind, and deeply loving soul whose thoughtful advice, steady wisdom, and warm presence left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Kathy found joy in beauty and care, most especially in the David Austin Iceberg roses she lovingly cultivated and tended in her garden. She was also a voracious reader, delighting in books of all kinds and sharing her love of stories and knowledge with those around her. She held a deep love for music and had been an accomplished pianist during an earlier chapter of her life.
Born and raised in Lake Sherwood, California, Kathy lived a rich and varied life, residing in Lake Tahoe, Lake Arrowhead, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Studio City, California, and Duluth, Minnesota, before returning home to Lake Sherwood, where she spent her later years recreating her home with quiet intention and care.
Kathy was an entrepreneur and small business owner, founding La Crème Patisserie, a French patisserie in Albuquerque, and operating a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory franchise on a casino floor in Lake Tahoe. Later in life, she worked as a trusted independent bookkeeper for a variety of clients, offering the same care, reliability, and integrity she brought to every part of her life.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dennis Shryack. She is survived by close friends, extended family, and many dear loved ones who will forever carry her kindness, wisdom, and love in their hearts.
