

Joseph Vincent Riggio of Simi Valley,, California passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025 at the age of 94. He was born on November 27, 1930 in New York where he grew up, until which time he moved to California to pursue greater work opportunities and a better life.
He was a veteran of the U.S Army, where he served in the Military Intelligence Unit, and received the National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal.
He graduated from St. Johns University in New York with a law degree; after which he gained employment in the trust department of a major bank.
He was appointed to the bench as a judge in California by the then governor, George Deukmejian, and retired after many years of service. He was actively involved in Los Angeles Bar Association, The Italian American Club and the Knights of Columbus. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed coaching Little League, fishing, golfing, camping, and other family activities.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Catherine, who also was the love of his life. He is survived by his two sons, Anthony and Charles.
