Jaime Arturo Velarde

Jaime Arturo Velarde, a beloved father, grand father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, passed away on April 17, 2025, at the age of 71 in Thousand Oaks, California. Born on September 17, 1953, in Lima, Peru, Jaime immigrated to the United States at the age of 18 in pursuit of a better life.

Through determination and a tireless work ethic, Jaime built a successful career in the parking industry, where he cultivated a culture rooted in loyalty and family. His team was more than just coworkers—many, including Ruben, Roberto, Carlos, Frank, Oscar, and others, became lifelong friends and extended family.

Jaime was known for his extraordinary memory—he never forgot a face, name, address, or phone number. Ask him about any area code in the U.S., and he could tell you exactly where it was from. His contagious laugh, unwavering dedication, and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Outside of work, Jaime loved traveling, frequent trips to Las Vegas, Lima, Miami, and the Bahamas and most of all, spending time with his family. Always recognizable in his signature Hawaiian shirts, he was rarely without two or three phones—and his trusty iPad. If you ever rode in his car, chances are you were treated to a soundtrack of his favorite '80s hits—Barry White, Michael Jackson, and Earth, Wind & Fire.

Jaime was preceded in death by his mother, Elsa Rosales; his father, Guillermo Velarde; and his brother, Miguel Angel Velarde. He is survived by his loving children, Ashley Velarde-Rosenblum, Jonathan Velarde, and Clay Velarde; his treasured grandchildren, Ava, Luke, and Isabella; his brothers, Willy and Raul Velarde; his sister, Sophia Railing; dear cousins, and many adoring nieces and nephews.

Jaime’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten. May he rest in peace with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jaime Arturo Velarde, querido padre, abuelo, hermano, tío, primo y amigo, falleció el 17 de abril de 2025 a la edad de 71 años en Thousand Oaks, California. Nacido el 17 de septiembre de 1953 en Lima, Perú, Jaime emigró a Estados Unidos a los 18 años en busca de una vida mejor.

Gracias a su determinación y una ética de trabajo incansable, Jaime forjó una exitosa carrera en el sector del estacionamiento, donde cultivó una cultura arraigada en la lealtad y la familia. Su equipo era más que simples compañeros de trabajo; muchos, como Rubén, Roberto, Carlos, Frank, Oscar y otros, se convirtieron en amigos para toda la vida y en una familia extendida.

Jaime era conocido por su extraordinaria memoria: jamás olvidaba un rostro, un nombre, una dirección ni un número de teléfono. Pregúntale sobre cualquier código de área en EE. UU. y te diría exactamente de dónde era. Su risa contagiosa, su dedicación inquebrantable y su genuino interés por los demás dejaron una huella imborrable en todos los que conoció.

Fuera del trabajo, a Jaime le encantaba viajar: sus frecuentes viajes a Las Vegas, Lima, Miami y las Bahamas, y sobre todo, pasar tiempo con su familia. Siempre reconocible por sus características camisas hawaianas, rara vez andaba sin dos o tres teléfonos, y su fiel iPad. Si alguna vez viajaste en su coche, probablemente escuchaste una banda sonora de sus éxitos favoritos de los 80: Barry White, Michael Jackson y Earth, Wind & Fire.

A Jaime le precedieron en la muerte su madre, Elsa Rosales; su padre, Guillermo Velarde; y su hermano, Miguel Ángel Velarde. Le sobreviven sus queridos hijos, Ashley Velarde-Rosenblum, Jonathan Velarde y Clay Velarde; sus queridos nietos, Ava, Luke e Isabella; sus hermanos, Willy y Raúl Velarde; su hermana, Sophia Railing; y sus queridos primos y sobrinos.

El recuerdo de Jaime vivirá en los corazones de todos los que lo conocieron y amaron. Lo extrañaremos profundamente y jamás lo olvidaremos. Que descanse en paz con nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
