Jacques Hugard, a dedicated veteran and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully on October 24th, 2024 at the age of 71. Born in Metz, Moselle, France, Jacques dedicated his life to the service of his country and to his family, instilling values of integrity, loyalty, and kindness in everyone he met.
Jacques proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honored with the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. His time in the military was a testament to his selfless dedication and resilience, qualities that defined him both in and out of uniform.
Beyond his military service, Jacques was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a steadfast friend. He found great joy in lending a hand to others with home improvement projects, engaging in spirited political debates, spending peaceful hours fishing, sharing his love of music, and savoring a cold Bud Light in good company. Jacques’s warmth, wisdom, and sense of humor left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him, and his genuine kindness will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have called him family or friend.
He is survived by his spouse Janice, and two children Shawn and Kristina, as well as his three sister's Helene, Linda, Donna and Step-Dad Jerry. Jacques’s legacy of kindness and strength will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know him.
A service to honor Jacques’s life and military service will be held on November 2nd between 1PM and 5PM at his house. Family, friends, and community members are invited to join in remembering a remarkable life.
