Iris was born and raised in Chicago Illinois. She is one of six children; three brothers and two other sisters. She loved a variety of music from Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin to Barbra Streisand and Judy Garland. She also loved classic movies such as Meet Me In St. Louis to Easter Parade and comedies with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby.
Iris was a member of B’nai B’rith for many years in Chicago and she loved people and loved getting to know new people as well. Her family and her children and making new friends is what she lived for. She also loved to travel with her husband Harold and the kids, Mark and Barbara, every winter season including Miami Beach multiple times.
My mother was also a fighter and taught her kids the difference between right and wrong at an early age. My mother was the greatest role model a child could have and
we never stopped learning from her. I remember when neighborhood kids would come by the house to play they always commented on “how pretty” my mother was. My mother loved beautiful things: jewelry, pretty coats, making her house as beautiful as possible and making sure her kids were dressed properly before leaving for school.
My mother taught me to respect elders and treat friends like, “I would like to be
treated”. I am so lucky to have had a mother like my mother. I am who I am today because of my special, loving mother.
God Bless you!
