Franklin Hikoo Shimizu

Franklin “Bubba” Hikoo Shimizu M.D. of Woodland Hills, California, Born May 21, 1931, passed away peacefully at his home on February 14, 2025 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of 68 years to Florence Shimizu, loving father of Cat, Luke, Robert, Maria, Paul and David Shimizu, grandfather to Frankie, Danielle and Andrew Shimizu. Franklin, a native of Oahu Hawaii, was doctor of Radiology for over 30 years at St. Vincent Medical Center, graduate of University of Michigan Medical School class of 1963. He was a U.S. Army veteran who was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for heroic actions in the Korean War. An avid painter, photographer, bookworm, gardener, and loving father to all his furry friends, Franklin led a life of hard work and unbridled compassion, the effects of which are reflected in everyone he interacted with.
