Cynthia Lee Roberts

Cynthia Lee Roberts, age 64, of Granada Hills, California, passed away in hospice care from a short battle with cancer on September 15, 2026. Cynthia was born in Ames, Iowa on August 27, 1962. She graduated from Ames High school and attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, getting both her bachelor's degree and master’s degree. She later got an additional master’s degree from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, MN. Cynthia taught classes at Iowa State University and at Des Moines Area Community College, was a counselor at St. Benedict’s College in St. Joseph, MN, and spent the better part of her life as a caretaker for her mother and stepfather until their death, and for her uncle in California. Cynthia was a resident of Northfield in the 1990’s. She was a dedicated Christian, professing and living her faith in Jesus Christ. Cynthia was an accomplished musician and writer. Her book, Where You Stumble, is soon to be published. Cynthia (Cyndi) was the sister to Sonja Freeland (Alan) of Northfield, MN, and aunt to Tim (Lori) Freeland of Northfield, MN and Andy (Sara) Freeland of Eden Prairie, MN. She is survived by two great-nieces, Kayla Greden Kosel (Tyler), Rylie Freeland, three great-nephews, Jake, Gus, Kermit Freeland, and one great-great-niece, Lyla Jane Kosel as well as many friends and family. A celebration of life will take place at a later date in Huxley, Iowa.
