Charles William Peskin, also known as Chuck Peskin, was the beloved son of Samuel Peskin and Ruth Gerson Peskin. He was born on June 28, 1946, in Los Angeles, California, the youngest of three children. he graduated from John Marshall High School in 1968 and then attended school at Los Angeles Trade tech to learn auto repair.
The most memorable moment in Chuck's life was joining the U.S. marines and serving in Vietnam because it drastically changed his life. He hated the war and its terrible memories but was strengthened afterwards by the association and camaraderie of his fellow Marines. He loved wearing his Marine jacket and Marine hat everywhere he went. He loved to tell jokes and "kibbitz" around with fellow comrades-in-arms throughout the remainder of his life.
He worked in various jobs after serving in Vietnam. his favorite job was working as a long-distance truck driver, hauling shipments to California, Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming. In his older years he worked in various casinos in Las Vegas, Nevada.
After retiring, Chuck traveled, played golf, and collected Native American art and music. Chuck was a faithful member of Sinai Temple in Summerlin, Nevada and a member of the Jewish War Veterans in North Las Vegas.
He died of cardiac arrest on January 16, 2025, in Los Angeles, California.
Chuck was predeceased by his parents and a long-time friend, Mort Schwartz.
Chuck is survived by his sister, Evelyn Driscoll, and brother, Michael Peskin; two nieces, La Rue (Andrew) Fernandez and Wendy (Louis) Fudale; two nephews, Frank (Heather) Driscoll and Garrett (Mariah) Peskin, and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
A family service and burial will be at the Southern Nevada National Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada. He will be missed and forever remain in our hearts.
