

Charles was a World War II Veteran where he served in Germany as a “Heavy Mortar Crewman”. He received European Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars; Good Conduct Medal; Bronze Star Medal; Victory Medal, World War II. He was honorably discharged on May 1st 1946. Charlie was a very proud Veteran.
Throughout his life Charlie survived Quadruple Bypass Heart Surgery, Cancer, and Diabetes.
Charles was born on December 16th 1925 to Rose Argentizza, and Joseph Galipo in Cleveland, Ohio. He also had a sister, Josephine (Provenzale), and brother, Joseph (both deceased). He had a love for weightlifting and a love for cars.
Charles met Constance Palmeri in Cleveland, OH. Charles was stricken by her beauty and became instantly infatuated. They fell madly in love and were married on September 29th 1956 at St. Henry Catholic Church. Charles and Constance were devoted to each other as lifelong partners. They started a family almost instantly, and had 3 sons, James John Galipo, Michael Anthony Galipo, and Russell Joseph Galipo.
Charles was a beloved family man; he supported his family working as a Lath & Plasterer, and Constance raised their 3 boys. Charles & Constance loved big family gatherings. They would arrange a huge spread of Italian food and all family and friends were always welcome.
Charlie also loved to garden and took pride in his Tomato garden which also included an array of peppers, and herbs. Whenever anyone came over he would proudly show them his garden. Charles loved collecting things; Constance would often call the “things he found” Junk, but all the same Charles loved his Junk. He also loved music, and would listen to big band music on his turntable that he found in a dumpster. Everything was taped together with electrical tape but it all worked!
Charles is survived by his wife Constance, 3 son’s James, Michael and Russell. Grandchildren, Darlene Michelle Galipo, Vincent Anthony Galipo, and Tyler Lynn Galipo.
