Beverly McDonald, age 85, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026. Born on May 23, 1940, in Inglewood, California, to Donald (Smitty) and Virginia (Marguerite) Lucas Smith, she spent the majority of her beautiful life as a resident of Southern California.
Beverly had a long and dedicated career as an Administrative Assistant, spending two decades working for Hughes Aircraft and Raytheon from 1977 until her well-earned retirement in 1997.
Family was the true centerpiece of her life. She was the mother of four children, Carolyn, Cynthia (Cindy), Christopher (Chris), and Mark, whom she shared with her first husband, Gary Collier. She also enjoyed being Aunt Bev to her sister's two children, Cary McNamara Snooks and Dana McNamara Sellers. In 1975, she married Patrick (Pat) McDonald, and they shared 45 wonderful years together until his passing in 2020.
Her greatest joy was found in the bustling, loving family she built. She cherished every moment spent with her ten grandchildren—Joshua (Josh), Shaun, Tanecia, Justin, Ashlin, Shane, Meghan, Christine (Christie), Christopher (CJ), and Joy—and was incredibly proud to be a great-grandmother to Brady, Matthew, Emma, Emeline (Emie), Elaina (Lainey), Perrin, Ella, Magnolia (Noli), and Madilyn (Madi).
Beverly is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Patrick McDonald; her parents, Smitty and Marguerite; and her sister, Anita Smith McNamara, who passed away in 2013. She leaves behind a profound legacy of love, and devotion that will be carried forward by the generations she created.
