Timothy Lynn Frey of Phoenix Arizona, passed away on January 25, 2019. At the age of 71. Tim was born to Howard W. and Lynore V. (Hosford) Frey on August 12, 1947 in Fort Madison, Iowa. His parents lived and worked for many years in Fort Madison, Iowa and Nauvoo, Illinois.
Tim attended Fort Madison High School from 1962 through 1965. He was a well-liked student with an outgoing and gregarious personality. He enjoyed all aspects of school, especially his friends and many of the teachers. An honor roll student, Tim was always a team player and found time to participate in many extracurricular activities that stretched his intellectual interests. He was also a talented musician and vocalist who enjoyed expressing himself in many ways through his activities.
Following high school graduation, Tim earned a BA in English and psychology from the University of Kansas, a Master’s degree in Psychology from Western Illinois University, and was a doctoral student in Special Education Administration at the University of Kansas. Following his education, he lived and worked in Lawrence and Mclouth Kansas as a school psychologist. He also worked as a school psychologist in Illinois, Missouri, California, and Arizona. In Arizona, he spent 3 years in state government and one year as the Executive Director of a social service agency. Tim also worked at Buckeye Union High School and finished his career retiring from the Chandler Unified School District as Director of Research and Federal projects.
Tim was a loving, caring, and compassionate person to any and all.
Tim is survived by: his brother John, of Ohio; niece, Christine Kovacs and family, of Ohio; and nephew Anthony Frey and family, of Ohio. He is preceded in death by his sister Judith Price and niece Catherine Frey.
