
Terrence Raymond Smith, beloved husband, and father, passed away on October 28, 2022. He was 83 years old. Terrence was born on July 6, 1939, in Detroit Michigan to Hazen and Geraldine Smith. Terrence joined the U.S. Navy in 1957 and was honorably discharged in 1960. He was a FMF hospital corpsman third class (E-4). He went on to work as a machinist for Chrysler, Allied Signal, and Honeywell, retiring after 20 years. He was affectionately called “The Governor” by his co-workers at Honeywell due to his friendly personality. Terrence met and married Joyce Francine Piasecki on November 19, 1960, in Detroit, Michigan. They had five children together. They moved to Arizona, and spent 30 years together there. Joyce passed away on May 26, 2008. Terrence married Deborah Blankenship on September 25, 2020.
Terrence (Terry) enjoyed playing golf and he loved to travel. He also loved to go to the casinos in Arizona and in Las Vegas. He was a vibrant man who always had a great sense of humor, and a kind heart. He will be missed dearly by his family. He is survived by his second wife Deborah and his five children he had with Joyce: Michael Smith (Theresa), Lisa Mohler (Kenny), Leslie Fraser (Scott), Terrence Smith Jr. (Shannan), and Amanda Jordan (Kevin). He is also survived by his sister Carol Salisbury of Detroit, Michigan, and he has fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, Az. 85024, on November 17, at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
