Robert Brian Lee

Robert B Lee “Bob”, of Lake Havasu City AZ passed away on Monday July 9th at the age of 78. He was born on November 25, 1947, in Mount Vernon Washington. He grew up with a large family in Stanwood, Washington.

He graduated from Stanwood High School in 1966, going on to Skagit Community College and working at Boeing Inc as an overhead crane operator. Through the years Bob obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree from Washington State University, taking many business courses. In 1973, he met the dream of his life and married Penny Shroyer on August 23, 1974. As grew up, He lived in a small rural town, his father a barber. Played basketball, loved playing cards and sports.

He has worked for the Eagles for 52 years, volunteer, officer, cook, etc.

Bob took a position as a Washington State University as a campus law enforcement officer. He then worked as a Multnomah County Sheriff Deputy living in Vancouver Washington receiving many awards. He was a master firearms instructor and Police driving instructor during that time. An opportunity came up to purchase a small family restaurant and they jumped in. He and wife Penny worked and operated the restaurant for approx. 17 years “Bob and Penny’s Big Bob Restaurant”, Moving them back to Stanwood Washington.

He retired from the restaurant and he continued his life Bob, going back to work as a purchasing agent for the City of Everett Police Dept.

Bob suffered an aphasia stroke while on duty at the Police Dept and was the unable to return to work. He could no longer speak. He worked hard to learn to read, write and speak and almost made it completely back. Since 1973, Bob has been a very dedicated Eagle member believing in the charities and their message. His Golden Eagle card comes from Stanwood Washington #3041 and he is a dual member at Lake Havasu City Eagles #4299. He has given thousands of hours working for and enjoying the Eagles. He has traversed all local and State offices, He has been a Grand Aerie Agent for over 10 years. He enjoyed going to clubs and telling them “You can do this-Let’s go!” Bob received the State Hall of Fame from the Eagles and a very prestigious award, the Grand Aerie Hall of Fame. He competed and believed in the Eagles ritual up until 1 month ago still initiating initiates and even receiving an International rank of 100%.on the part of Worthy President. Many of you were initiated by Bob, as he has been Worthy President for initiation for many years now.

He was an avid bowler and competed on the national level.

Bob was a member of the Elks club #2399, VFW and American Legion SAL member. He also was proud of his 32nd degree Master Mason rank and of his Nile Shriners memberships.

Bob is predeceased by his parents, Carl and Atha Lee. His in laws, Harry and Maxine Shroyer, His Brothers: Michal Lee, Clark Lee, Dennis Lee and sister, Marlene Schuster.

He is survived by his loving wife, Penny Lee, his brother James Lee of Desert Palms, and many nieces and nephews. Also, brother in laws: Scott Shroyer (Janet), Kirk Shroyer (Mary) and Barry “Bud” Shroyer (Gina) all of Washington State and many other nieces and nephews.

He retired from the restaurant and he continued his life. Bob going back to work as a purchasing agent for the City of Everett Police Dept. After Bob suffered an aphasia stroke at work not allowing him to return. He moved to Arizona to retire. He threw himself into the Eagles again raising in the last 5 years over $100,000 for the HEART Charity and volunteering as an Officer, he currently passed he as a Trustee.

The family would like to thank all of the Gilbert Mercy Hospital staff for all his care with dignity and grace. His wife, Penny, wants to say he lived his life and wanted to be remembered not with deep sadness and long sorrow., but joy of a life well spent, treasuring what you have, being kind and having fun.

Bob’s Celebration of Life will be held at Lake Havasu Eagles #4299, 1561 Marlboro Lane, Lake Havasu, AZ on Sunday August 23rd at 2pm.
