Mike Weidkamp, age 72, died unexpectedly on March 7th, 2023, at Abrazo Arrowhead Hospital from respiratory failure. He was born February 23rd, 1951, in Bellingham Washington, the son of John and Althea Weidkamp.
Mike graduated from Meridian High School, Class of 1969. Following graduation, he served with the U.S. Air Force in Florida. Afterwards he attended Everett Community College, where he met and married his wife Dorothy McNeal and lived in Everett, WA for a few months before they relocated to Burlington Washington in late 1973. They moved to Salome, AZ in 2019 and celebrated 50 years of marriage in February 2023. Mike was devoted to mission work and passionate about men’s ministry.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, John of Burlington, WA. Surviving, in addition to his wife Dorothy of Salome, AZ; are his Son, Mike Jr. and wife Jenifer of Burlington, WA; Son Bill of Salome, AZ; Granddaughters, Allyson, Kristen and 2 Great Grandchildren of Burlington, WA; Mother, Althea Weidkamp of Burlington, WA; Brother, Darryl and wife Anita of Sedro Wooley, WA; Sisters, Lynette and husband Scott Dickerson of Mount Vernon, WA; Eileen and husband Doc Beck of Nooksack, WA; along with numerous Aunts, Uncle, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
There was a Memorial Service and fellowship time for his Salome family and friends shortly following his death.
A Celebration of Life is planned at 11 am on Saturday, May 6th, 2023 in Burlington, Washington at Valley Community Church 800 E Rio Vista (on the corner of E Rio Vista and Anacortes Streets). Following Mike’s Celebration of Life, the church will host a lunch and time of fellowship in the basement of the church. We invite everyone who knew and loved Mike, to join us, as we remember his impact upon our lives.
