Michael Alan Stevens Michael was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 9, 1952 and died in Phoenix at the age of 64. He had a twinkle in his eye, an adventurous soul and a generous heart. Mike had many talents and interests. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla with a B.S in Mining Engineering. He worked in the coal industry in both Illinois and then later in Alberta Canada. He retrained to be in restaurant management when he entered a partnership to open a chain of Doc and Eddy restaurants. He managed the first one in Tempe which is what brought him from the bitter cold of Alberta to thaw in the Arizona heat. After a couple years of long hours he decided to go back to school and run his own landscape company, Landscapes Plus. He did countless residential projects over the next few years while getting his business degree from ASU where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He joined R. H Dupper Landscaping where he worked on large commercial projects until he retired in 2009. Mike and his wife Terry were married for 41 years and although had no children had many dogs that were spoiled by Mike. They had many adventures together and took on many construction projects together. They built their first house together in Carlinville, Illinois and their last a beautiful cabin in Overgaard, Arizona. They loved outdoor adventures and snow skied, snow mobiled, water skied, fished, para- sailed, quad trail riding and took their RV on the road. Mike loved sports and was very loyal to the end to the St Louis Baseball Cardinals. He loved all kinds of movies and music and we were often at a concert, festival or movie theatre. Mike had a long valiant battle with juvenile diabetes that had many complications over the years and was what brought about his early death. He is survived by his brother Ed and his wife Terri, his sister Cheryl Hunt and her husband Greg and 5 nieces and nephews (David, Heather, Travis, Angela and Aaaron). A Celebration of life will be scheduled in St Louis in the spring. There will be no services in Phoenix. If you would like to honor Mike please make donations to the American Diabetes Association or The Arizona Humane Society. http://www.azhumane.org/get-involved/give-now/memorial-and-tribute-gifts/ 1521 E Dobbins Rd P.O.
