Luther John Peters

Mr. Luther John Peters of Fountain Hills, AZ passed away peacefully on July 19, 2019 at the age of 85. A memorial service will be held at Shepherd of the Hills (SOTH) Lutheran Church in Fountain Hills, AZ on August 10, 2019 at 12:00PM.

Luther was born in Oak Harbor, Ohio to Luther and Nellie Peters (Burditt). Luther grew up in Oak Harbor Ohio and enlisted in the Navy in 1952 following High School. He then studied art at the Pittsburgh Art Institute. He was a graphic designer by profession and one of his creations was the Lollipop Dragon, a character he created for school children. His hobbies included: golfing, building and flying model planes and music including playing the piano and singing in his church choir.

His was an active member of SOTH and Cursillo group. He displayed an amazing capacity to contribute his heart and his talents to those he touched and served.

In addition to his parents, Luther was preceded in death by his loving wife of 20 plus years, Katy whom he met at SOTH. He is survived by his sister, Shirley Rice (Rudy), and his children: Dawn Burrows (Chris), Lisa Peters, Kris Zink (Jim) and grandchildren Joshua Zink (Amy), and Jordan Zink.

He will be fondly remembered by Katy’s children: Charles Lloyd (Qin), Julie Maegdlin (Steve), their children as well as his niece and nephew.

Luther will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
