Loretta was born and raised in Fort Kent, ME, daughter of the late Oram E and Livinie (Nadeau) Michaud. Her childhood years in Fort Kent were filled with lots of outdoor activities and her schooling was spent in a one room schoolhouse up to a high school level of education. Moving to Hartford Ct., she worked as a waitress in her aunts' restaurant where she met her future husband. They dated for 18 months, and the war took him away for some time. When he returned home, they continued dating for 11 months and then married and began their lives together.
Her career took her into accounting and finance with the Phoenix Ins. Co. and later to Travelers Ins. Co. where she retired in 1988. Over the years she managed to be a successful Avon Representative as well.
She was a Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 254 of Hartford and Later Post 9929 of West Hartford. Her community service with this organization helped many veterans and their families.
In 1992, Loretta re-located with family to Encino California where she resided until she moved to Maricopa, Arizona in 2024. In California, Loretta enjoyed meeting new acquaintances, as well as forming many new and dear relationships and friendships. Her days were filled with friendly gatherings and joyous celebrations. Her life was filled with family and friends who were always around her. She was always the life of the party.
Loretta is survived by one son and two daughters, Robert Cantwell and wiie Cenzi, Diane Cantwell and Jean Anderson. Her beloved grandchildren, Wayne Cantwell, Wendie Cantwell, Catherine Cantwell-Vera, Christina Saunders, Danielle Anderson and Marvin Anderson, Jr. She was blessed with great grandchildren, Kiera Cantwell, Kiana Cantwell, Michael Cantwell Kapelowitz, Nalani Walker, Ariana Newman and Arya Anderson. A great-great-grandchild as well, Jaequaiwn Jackson Jr. She leaves many cherished nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister Rosemarie Lownds, and brothers Maurice, Emile, Roland and Roger Michaud.
The family sincerely wishes to thank all the wonderful caregivers at the Agave Hospice who helped them through a very tough time.
The celebration of her life arrangements will be determined at a later date.
