Larry Lew Hill, of Cottonwood Arizona, aged 81, passed away on Monday April 27, 2020. He was born in Collbran, Colorado to Walter Hill Sr. and Margaret Floy Sisler. He is proceeded in death by his parents; brothers Walter Hill Jr, Jimmy Hill and sister Mary Louise Bashaw. He is survived by daughters Felicia Croall and Rachel Simes; and grandchildren Jacob and Haley Croall; Emily, Justin, and Natalie Simes. He is also survived by many long term friends and co-workers.
Larry grew up in Rodeo California and spent 8 years serving in the Navy as a Radarman. He earned multiple degrees from San Francisco State, the University of Wisconsin, and the University of Wyoming. As a professor of English literature he taught in many parts of the world including Maiduguri, Gombe, Nigeria, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, and Jakarta, Indonesia. For the past several years he worked as a Mental Health Therapist for AHN Wexford at the Yavapai County Detention Center. Larry also worked as a professional photographer, videographer. He was artistic in his abilities, thoughts, and spirit. He spent much time in his life drawing, painting, and photographing the people and places he loved. Through his videography company he most enjoyed capturing life stories of clients to be preserved and stored for future generations. Larry loved being a Dad, Grand Father. He cared deeply for his friends, his art, and his work. He will greatly be missed. His remains have been cremated and due to COVID 19 his final resting place is to be determined.
