LaMar Alva Quisenberry – Would like to let you know that her work here is done. On March 24th, 2017 LaMar opted to join her parents, Roy and Hattie Palmer, her 4 brothers and sisters and many of her friends, business acquaintances and pets that rest with the angels. LaMar was born on December 26th, 1914 in a small town in Wisconsin to Roy and Hattie. With 102 years under her belt, LaMar never turned away from an adventure. LaMar was no stranger to fishing, hiking, skiing, and motorcycle riding – which is how she celebrated her 101st birthday- thanks to Buddy Stubbs Harley. 1n 1942, LaMar, along with husband, James Yonekazu Morinaga, her daughter, Yonako and infant son, Jerry David were evacuated from their home in Arroyo Grande, CA and sent to the Japanese Internment Camp “Poston, Arizona.” After one year in the Camp, the Morinaga family packed up and moved to Illinois where LaMar honed her skills as a Medical Laboratory Technician. In 1953, LaMar met and married Eugene Quisenberry and moved to Seattle and stayed until 1980. Arizona was calling and LaMar and Eugene packed up and moved to Payson, AZ…and then back down to the desert-scape of Phoenix. LaMar is survived by her daughter, Yonako Chambers; Arizona – her husband Richard Chambers and ZsaZsa, Francie Mason; (Daughter-In-Law), Angel Avery (granddaughter), Jerry Morgan (grandson),Jim & Dee Chambers (grandchildren), Alexander Chambers; (great-grandson), Taylor and Bailley Morgan (great-granddaughters), Dane Avery (great-grandson), and Izana Avery (great-granddaughter). LaMar will be greatly missed by nieces and nephews in CA, AZ, CO, WA and DE and her dear friend and co-pilot; J’Anne Burket. There will be a “Celebration of Life” ceremony held on April 29th, 2017 at the PV Seventh Day Adventist Church – 2727 E Cactus Rd; Phoenix, AZ., at 2:00 P.M. Phone number: 602-971-6010.
