After her singing career was over, she taught elementary school on the Gila River Indian Reservation in Arizona for nearly twenty years specializing in Early Childhood Education.
She is survived by her husband David and her seven children: Ian, Christina, Julie, Christian, Christopher, Olga and Nikolai; her eight grandchildren: Dante, Alexandra, Leilani, Dillon, Wyatt, Vlad, Carly, and Avery; and two great-grandchildren: Lylah and Alayah.
