Remembering my dear friend, Judy, especially today. I am treasuring the over 50 years of our friendship. With love, Georgette.

Judy and I were grad students together at Northern Illinois University from 1971 to 1975.  We had much in common; we'd both been in the Peace Corps and were both interested in Southeast Asian history and politics.  We stayed in touch via Christmas cards for the past half century.  I had a bad feeling when I didn't get one this year.  But for many years instead of a Christmas card she sent a delightful cheerful hand-drawn Spring card, always with an e e cummings quote.  She was remarkably positive even after her devastating auto accident.  A wonderful soul, may God bless her.

I just learned that Judith passed away as a result of the Christmas card I sent this year was returned. I am saddened to learn of her passing as I thoroughly enjoyed working with her when she was Academic Vice President at Northland Pioneer College and  I was Early Childhood faculty. We kept in touch some,mainly through cardsthrough the mail, since when she had left NPC. I really enjoyed having her support for some of  my "dreams" about the e. c. program. While at NPC, she strongly advocated,  supported and shared enthuisiastically that program. She also joined my family at a couple of White Mtn. Apache events: the annual Tribal Fair one Labor Day weekend and my granddaughter's preparation for her coming of age ceremony, aka "Apache Sunrise Dance". I know she is in a better place, but also am sure she greatly is missed by her family and friends and those of us at NPC that the pleasure of working with her in our efforts  to serve the students of Navajo and Apache counties. Condolences and prayers for you. Rest in peace Judith.

Judy and I were in the Peace Corps together. When I remember Judy  my first recollections of her were her infectious laugh, her singing tunes from Oklahoma and how she loved to dance.  She was smart, witty, compassionate and never lost her desire to work on behalf of social issues.  Rest in peace dear friend.

Bart and I were very disturbed to learn of Judith's death. Bart taught with her at Sangamon State University. I knew her well, she had a shower for my first child. We had kept in close touch through email in the years when she was in Cleveland teaching and then at Cochise. I had not heard from her for about a  year. It pains me to have found her obituary. She was bright, kind, and had a wonderful personality and ability to converse with anyone. RIP Judith!  We shall remember you always. Bart Michelson and Carol Michelson,  Easton, Maryland.

I met Judy (s she was then) in 1967, fresh out of college, at a Peace Corps training camp.  The condtions were pretty Spartan but Judy plunged right in to courses on Malaysian History, Current Evenls, and the Malay Language.

When the training was over we were sent to our postings in Sarawak, Borneo..  Judy went to a riverside school, deep in the jungle about 3 hours by slow boat from the South China Sea---.quite a change for a Chicago girl!  She made many friends on the staff and often spent the school breaks with  students, hiking through the rainy jungle for an hour or two 
and arriving  to spend a few days at their family longhouse' learning about the Iban culture and teaching about her own.

I hope this brief sketch from her early life will give an idea of Judy's  strength, curiosity, and  care for others..  She was a  rare teacher and friend..

Judith was a colleague of mine at Cochise College.  Judith was quite supportive of me when I was applying to graduate school, and she wrote me a wonderful letter of recommendation.  I will be forever grateful to her for sharing her wisdom with me and others at the college on a number of scholastic issues. My condolences to her family.

I am so saddened to learn of Judith's passing.  I've known her since 2005 when she hired me to represent her in her car accident claim.  Through the many years that her case took to resolve, through the prosperity and financial security that the settlement provided, and through another claim a few years ago, Judith remained the delightful, faithful, and special person that made everyone's life better.  Her passing is a loss to all of us.  But we are better for having known her.

I am sending condolences to the family, and other friends of Judith Doerr.  For me, I have lost my dearest friend, and I will treasure memories of her forever. May she rest in peace.

On behalf of myself and my wife, Helene, we wish to send our prayers and sympathies to the family of Judith Doerr.  I always enjoyed our meetings and lunches together as we had so much to talk about, with politics and music and the arts.  She was such a special, highly educated person who commanded the respect of us all.  I served as a colleague of hers on Deans Council at Lakeland Community College in Mentor, OH.  May she rest in peace.
