Joyce Elsie Houghton

Joyce Elsie Houghton of Scottsdale, AZ passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at the age of 87. She was born on August 21, 1937 in Hong Kong where she grew up. She married the love of her life (Denis) in 1958 and together they had two beautiful daughters (Karen and Laureen). Joyce worked as an Executive Assistant in the banking industry in Hong Kong, as well as in San Francisco after the family immigrated to California in 1965. After enjoying their life in California, Denis and Joyce settled in Arizona in 1991. Joyce was a devout Catholic and was active in her parish community at St. Maria Goretti in Scottsdale. Her passions included hula, traveling the world, and sewing (which contributed to many family important life events). She is preceded in death by her father (Alfred), mother (Marie), brother (Boykie), and sisters (Evelyn and Frances). She is survived by her husband (Denis), sister (Pauline), daughters (Karen and Laureen), son-in-law (Lou), grandchildren (Lawrence Jr., Marcellus, and Nani), and great grandchildren (Bria, Gabriella, Rocco, Malia, and Malakai). Joyce was strong, compassionate, and devoted to her family. Her gentle, loving, and kind spirit will be deeply missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church (Sacramento, CA) on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 12:00pm.
