John D. Oberritter

John was born on March 7, 1934 to Angela nee Perone and John Oberritter in Chicago, Illinois. After graduation he went to work at Motorola and remained an employee for 37 years only interrupted by the 2 years he was drafted in the Army. Upon his discharge from the military, he returned to Motorola and went on to complete his education earning a degree in engineering.

In 1959, John met Sharon nee Nelson and the two were wed in Chicago in 1960. They celebrate their 64th wedding anniversary in 2024. John was an adoring father to his 2 children, David (deceased November, 2024) and Julie Brandt. He is survived by his sister-in-law Debra Nelson, brother-in-law Scott (Karen) Nelson and aunt, Lorraine Perone.

After retiring, John, filled his time doing remodeling work for his family and friends, jobs that he loved which gave him a great deal of satisfaction. He will be known for his infectious personality, positive energy, and ability to easily socialize with anyone he met. John will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew him. His impact and memory will endure through the stories shared through those who loved him.

Services are being arranged by the US Military and will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. The date and time will be announced once finalized.
