John, son of John and Helen Grobowski Kaminsky, was born in South Fork, Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by his mother and father; his brothers, Robert J. Kaminsky and Spurgeon J. Kaminsky; and by his sisters, Joan G. Shafer and Frances L. Smith.
John is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Kaminsky, and his two children: Keith David Kaminsky and Karen Marie Ellington. John had three grandchildren: Tyrell Ellington, Sarah Ellington and Ashley Kaminsky and two great grandchildren: Ciara Tyrell Ellington and Everett Nicholas Arcobasso; and many nieces and nephews.
Some of John’s favorite pastimes included camping, fishing and dove hunting. Later in his life, he became an avid golfer. And even later, John became a ball hawker, collecting golf balls from the golf courses for recycling.
John was an active member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (Local 640) for 65 years. He was also a grateful recovered member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 44 years, with a sobriety date of December 18, 1978.
A Celebration of Life will be held in John’s memory at Crossroads East, 1845 E. Ocotillo Rd., Phoenix, Arizona 85016, on Saturday, February 25, 2023, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
