Harold was born 12/17/1928 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. While living in Kenosha, he worked as both a farmer and for American Motors. In 1949 he married Marilyn, the love of his life, and had three wonderful children; Jerry, Cathy, and Mike. Harold relocated his family to Phoenix, Arizona in 1957. While living in Phoenix he worked for a floor covering business and taught both of his sons the trade. In his fifties, Harold embarked upon a new career as a residential building contractor. During this time he built houses in Munds Park, and Flagstaff, Arizona, including a townhomes complex named after him, Boyington Heights, which to this day displays his name.
For most of their golden years, Harold and Marilyn lived in Lake Havasu, where Harold quickly gained reputation as an expert stripper bass fisherman. Harold loved the outdoors, more specifically sharing his love of hunting and fishing with his children and later his grand and great grandchildren. Memorabilia of his fishing and hunting ventures were captured and posted in the garage of his Sun City home. He was so proud and held on to those moments even as he grew further ill with dementia.
Harold was a devote catholic and a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Sun City, Arizona.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn of 68 years, his children Jerry Boyington, Cathy Ray, and Mike Boyington and Mike's wife Cosette; his grandchildren, Michael Ray, Jennifer Ray, Beverley Ramos, Jason Weinberg, Justin Boyington and Justin's wife Christine; and great-grandchildren, Ambur Ray, Joshua Ramos, Annabelle and Madeleine Boyington.
Harold inspired and touched the lives of so many with compassion, strength, grace and a dry sense of humor that would put a smile on everybody who knew him.
