H. Laraine Coplin

From a very early age, Laraine worked alongside her family helping to build their electrical contracting business. Through dedication and innovation, the company flourished, eventually expanding to include an electrical engineering division that developed and installed computer-driven control systems and robotics for the manufacturing industry.

In 1995, Laraine decided it was time to retire and “learn how to play”. Her husband and the love of her life, Larry, happily joined her on this grand-adventure. Together they traveled to all seven continents, embracing remote and unconventional destinations—her favorite kind. Flying, backpack camping, wildlife photography, off-road exploring and RV adventures filled their days and created a lifetime of treasured memories.

Laraine called many places home in Michigan—before relocating to Arizona in 1996, where she lived in Fountain Hills and Cave Creek - then Vi at Silverstone in Scottsdale, where she formed many meaningful friendships. Her days were filled with laughter, smiles, hugs and lively unique conversations. It was these relationships that brought her immense joy.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Larry Coplin; stepdaughter Cheryl Elizondo (Robert); stepson Erik Coplin (Leigh An); six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Johann Neverdausky (Marina Zaman) in November, 2024.

When asked how she was doing, Laraine often replied, “Still kicking up dust”. Though the dust has now settled at her feet; her smile, wit, strength and spirit will continue to travel within all who knew and loved her.
