Glenn Donald Olson

Born on 02/04/1932 and died on 02/23/2018, at the age of 86.

He enjoyed woodworking, automobile mechanics, and Gardening.

Grew up on a dairy farm in Friesland MN. Served in the Air Force 1951 to 1955. Worked in the lumber industry in northern CA. Married Phyllis Meissen, January 23, 1958. Became a Firefighter at General Dynamics Astronautics, joined the Poway Fire Department as a volunteer, and became one of the first three paid Firefighters in 1964. He retired as Captain of Poway Fire Dept. in 1981. While a firefighter for Poway Fire Department, was seriously burned in a wild land brush fire that started in Romona and burned through Poway and Rancho Bernardo to what is now Hwy 15. This occurred October 30,1967. Moved to AZ January 1999.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis of Chino Valley, AZ; daughters Kae Olson Vanderspek of San Marcos, CA. and Erika Olson Wilson of San Diego, CA.; son Dirk Douglas Olson of Chino Valley, AZ; 4 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
