In memory of Gerald Lee Oliver, 74, better known as Jerry. Jerry entered into eternal rest Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Boswell Banner Hospital. His birthplace was Rock Island, Illinois, born March 19, 1944 to parents Charlotte and Harold Oliver.
Jerry was an adventurous person and loved the desert and scenic views of Arizona. His loves in life were many riding the many trails and hills of the sand dunes, going to the Flagstaff cinders to ride the cinder bowls and trails, Hobie sailing the lakes and ocean, camping with friends and family, scenic trips, as well as hiking the Grand Canyon and trails through out Arizona. Many of his adventures included his friends, family and grandchildren. His last family trip was going to Utah to hike Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park. He took in the views, repelled down the tall canyon rocks and walked the narrows of the Virgin River through the gorge walls a thousand feet tall. His life was full and he had lots of laughs.
He became ill very quick and we never expected this illness would end his life. A few days before his death when he had a good day he said to me “Let's go home and eat some of your cooking, beautiful”.
Jerry's life on earth has passed and he will start a new life in eternity. God has summoned his soul and a
beautiful angel took his hand and said your place in heaven is ready. I love you, I miss you and have a feeling of emptiness in my heart.
Left to mourn the death of Jerry are his wife Irene (Bredlau) Oliver, daughter Tina Marie (Oliver) Fitzloff,
granddaughter Payten, grandson Colby, also son in law TJ Fitzloff.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2018 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road Phoenix, Arizona 85024. With Pastor Glen Swain officiating the military service as he was a veteran of the Air Force.
I will live in our memories for they will comfort me and prepare me to go on with life apart from you. So good-bye until we meet again.
