He was born April 12, 1939 and died August 16, 2018.
He spent 22 years in the Navy in Submarine service. He joined the fleet reserve association and the sub vet organization when he retired. He was a Master Mason, and while serving as the Master of his lodge he was the first to start a charity named “Books for Bikes.” He was very proud of the fact that this charity is not only national, but also international. He was a Shiner and was always very active in the support of the Shiner hospitals. He was also active in the Grotto York Right Scottish Right and the Eastern Star. He will be remembered for his love of people, his booming laughter, his bear hugs, and his joy of life.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon C. Jens-Crider; his brothers, Elmer, Jim, and Melvin; his sister, Lillian Crider-Mercer; his sons, Greg and George L. Crider II (J.R); his 3 daughters; Susan Shamburg, Heather Crider, and Shay Ramires; 22 grandchildren and 24 1/2 great grandchildren.
