Elizabeth (Betty) Eilene Perkins, 78 years of age, passed away peacefully from a major Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) burst in the brain at Chandler Regional Medical Center in Chandler, Arizona on March 9, 2022. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 23, 1943, to William Fredrick Soulier and Gertrude Eilene Ullom.
Betty was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was born and raised in Marion County, Ohio. She graduated from Mt. Gilead High School and attended Bowling Green University. Betty married her high school sweetheart, Ronald James Perkins, and became a very active Air Force officer's wife involved with many military family supportive activities. She was a pro at quickly packing, moving, unpacking, and adjusting to over 19 moves in 30 years with assignments across the United States, Italy, and Iceland. Betty always made a new duty station "home," finding beauty and joy throughout the globe. She loved to entertain and was a super host to everyone – whether dignitaries, neighbors, friends, or family – she had an extraordinary way of making anyone feel welcome and special.
Betty had a successful career as a realtor despite having to restart with new duty stations. She loved to keep busy and was always on the go, enjoying golfing, shopping, bible study, skiing, camping, traveling, white water rafting, and spending time with family and friends. She lived life to the fullest and encouraged others to do the same. During many family vacations, she kept up with the grandchildren by snorkeling, hiking, ziplining, and even successfully completing a challenging rope course 25 feet above ground at 72.
Betty was one of five children. Her two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death, Barbara Soulier Fricke, Marion Soulier McBride, William Soulier, and John Soulier.
She was married to Ronald James Perkins in 1962 and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They had three daughters. Lori Jean Perkins who preceded her in death. She is survived by; Lisa Jane (Cesar), Susan Lynn (Darin) , and six grandchildren, Chad William George , Kyle James George, Corrin Elizabeth George, Chelsea Ana Rashoff, Carly Ana Rashoff, and Chase Cesar Rashoff.
Betty was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Being a devout Christian, she was very devoted to Jesus and her family. We have lost one amazing woman all too soon. She is rejoicing in Heaven with Jesus, her daughter Lori, and other loved ones. Memories of her love, laughter, and endless kindness will remain in our hearts and minds forever.
Until we meet in Heaven, we love you always.
