

Delilah was born in Maury County, TN in 1958 to Autry G and Annie G Stephens. She grew up in San Diego, CA., and graduated from Crawford High School in 1976 with Academic Distinction and then attended Scripps College. She graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1994 where she received the Investiture of Doctoral Hoods and the Physician's Oath Ceremony and boarded in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Prior to medical school she worked at City of Hope, Beckman Institute of Research for several years.
She started her medical career with Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix. She joined Apogee Physicians as a hospitalist and worked in multiple locations before settling in at Lake Havasu City, AZ. She enjoyed being a part of the Apogee team and mentored many other doctors along the way before retiring in 2025. She loved being a physician and living in Arizona.
Delilah loved to read, shop, cook and traveled in and outside of the U.S. She traveled extensively to many places including the Bahama's, China, Haiti (Drs w/o Borders/Tonjua), Iceland (Anna), Italy (wedding), New Mexico (Gloria and Anna), New York (shows/Broadway), New Zealand (Beth), Savannah (Anna), as well as several ocean cruises. Caffe Boa and House of Trix (Carol) were her favorite eateries to meet her friends after a long day at work.
She is survived by her mother, Annie G Stephens, her brother Michael, and her sister Yvette. Also, by her nephews Conner and Trevor, her niece Jordan and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her extended family included Anna Zucker, her BFF, along with her children Gabe and Evelyn. Carol Crimmins and her children Will, Case and Sean. Gloria and Don Lobato and their children Theresa and Thomas. All of whom she loved very much.
A special thank you to Barrows Neurological Institute of Phoenix, AZ, you took the time and guided her to a recovery, leading her to be as independent as possible.
To the staff at MorningStar Assisted Living & Memory Care of Phoenix, AZ, your attentive care to Delilah's needs prior to and up to her passing was incredible. Also, to Noble Hospice in helping us say Goodbye to one of the most remarkable people we will ever know. You made her passing as comfortable and peaceful as possible. Our family and her extended family thank you so very much.
Delilah will be remembered for her quiet generous spirit, sharp intellect, quiet strength, quick sense of humor, and the positive impact she had on her family, colleagues, patients, and those she served around the world.
Delilah's Celebration of Life is posted on the Neptune Society. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory to organizations supporting global health initiatives or medical relief
efforts.
