David Michael Klemm, 77, born September 2, 1948, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, May 7, 2026, after a one-year siege of cancer, leaving behind a lifetime of devotion to family, friendship, and professional excellence.
David was the beloved husband of Terri Thomas Klemm and a proud father to his son, Ryan McMichael, and daughter-in-law, Brittany. Nothing brought him greater joy than being Grandpa Dave to his cherished granddaughters, Scarlett and Sadie, whose lives were brightened by his warmth, humor, and steady presence.
He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters, Geraldine (George) Burnside and Christine (Andy) Flowers, along with numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives he touched immeasurably over the years.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Erma (Christofferson) and Gerald Klemm, and his identical twin, Donald Russell Klemm (February 6, 2026).
Having earned the level of Eagle Scout, David graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1966, serving as Student Body President, attending Boys State, and excelling in high school athletics. A proud graduate of Weber State University (or as Dave would say “The Harvard of the Rockies”) he followed the Wildcats throughout his life.
David enjoyed a distinguished career with General Motors, where he served as a Marketing Executive for more than 40 years. He was respected not only for his leadership and professionalism, but also for his integrity, generosity, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life. His work ethic and vision left a lasting impact on colleagues and friends throughout his career.
Beyond his accomplishments, David will be remembered most for the way he made people feel – welcomed, valued, and loved. He had a gift for conversation, a deep appreciation for family traditions, and a spirit that brought people together. His life is marked by loyalty, kindness, and quiet strength.
David’s legacy lives on in the family he adored, the friendships he nurtured, and the many memories shared by those fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
A Celebration of Life honoring David and Donald will be held on August 1, 2026, at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in Salt Lake City, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Dave’s memory to The American Cancer Society.
