Consuelo C Mendivil

Consuelo C Mendivil, age 85, of Golden Valley, Arizona passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023.

The family of Consuelo Mendivil aka Connie Mendivil, 85, is deeply saddened to announce she passed away peacefully in her home and surrounded by her family on Saturday, Oct. 14,2023.

She was born Dec. 18, 1937, to Jacinto and Sara Castro in El Centro CA. She grew up in Calexico CA with her 3 brothers and 5 sisters, where she met Louis T. Baysek. They married Jan. 16, 1958, and were married for 18 years until his passing due to illness. They had one child.

She lived mostly in California in the Imperial Valley and Salinas Valley.

After a close family member contracted HIV, she became an advocate for HIV/AIDS Awareness and Prevention, volunteering in the education efforts in her community while living in the Salinas Valley.

She is survived by her daughter Annette (Jerry), granddaughters Jessica (Larz) and Ilisa, great granddaughters Lorelai and Kahlan, her sister Lucia, her niece and nephew Lisa and Jeff, and her dog Mijo.

She was preceded in death by her 1st husband “Lou” Baysek, 3rd husband Martin Mendivil, parents Jacinto and Sara Castro, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

A family favorite, we will forever remember her sense of humor, casinos, loving and caring nature, cooking, dancing, love for her dogs, and her love for her family. She will truly be missed.

In keeping with Consuelo’s wishes, there will not be any funeral or memorial services. At a later date to be announced, there will be a gathering in her honor of family and close friends to share stories and memories of Connie.
