Charles Ray Dusek, 86, passed away peacefully in his home on July 16, 2018 with his family by his side. Services including full military honors will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 10:00 AM at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona at 23029 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
Charles was born in Chicago, Illinois on 6/4/1932 of immigrant parents. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Dorothy A. Dusek (Vaudrin) from 6/13/1951 to 10/29/2013 when Dorothy Passed.
Charles went to Harrison High School in Chicago where he was a band leader and played the violin and also met Dorothy who played the oboe.
He served in the Army and retired after 20 years as Sergeant First Class. He served one tour in the Korean War and two tours in Vietnam. He was awarded two purple hearts, a Bronze Star and a Silver Star. He served our country with honor.
He got his Master’s Degree in teaching at NAU in Flagstaff, Arizona and went on to teach Science in Strawberry, Arizona.
He loved to play tennis and loved the outdoors and fishing and traveling. He loved to cook and loved animals (especially Maddie, Millie and Jasper).
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3871 in Glendale, AmVets 2000 in North Port, Florida and American Legion.
Charles will be very missed by his four children: Susan Cox (Darryl), Cindy Muxlow (Harold), Candy Kenney (Steve Allie), and Lawrence Dusek. He had 8 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. Also two sisters, Patrique Ellery and Nancy Dewey. He is joining those who preceded him in death: wife, Dorothy; Brother, George; Sister, Lois; and 2 Grandchildren, Kenneth and Bud (Larry, Jr.)

There will be a luncheon directly after the service at his home at 20434 North 21st Avenue, Phoenix.
