Barbara “Bobbie” Colbert Erisman Barbara “Bobbie” Colbert Erisman, 71, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, October 25th, 2017 in Tempe, Arizona. Bobbie was diagnosed with bladder cancer in August of this year, however she was at peace with the recent diagnosis. She was surrounded by family and dear friends in her final days. Bobbie was a very big surprise born August 31st 1946 on the U.S.S. President Adams to Katherine (Warder) Colbert and Commander Willard Colbert. Born several months premature only weighing 4lbs 7 oz. she was placed in a makeshift incubator with light bulbs. She grew up in Cheverly, MD and graduated from Bladensburg high school in 1965. Her first job out of high school was working for the F.B.I. She was very successful in her career, having worked in Washington, D.C., Oklahoma City, and eventually Phoenix, AZ. After a proud 42 years of service she happily retired. She is survived by her sister Donna Harlow, nephew Devon Harlow, sister Dale Franks, daughter Amy Schenkel, and grandchildren Ryne, Brittany, Katie, and Jessica Smith. There are many people that got to witness Bobbie’s kind heart, endless generosity and amazing love for children. In lieu of flowers please donate to Emmanuel Ev. Lutheran Church & School.
