November 22, 2017, Armida Buelna Redondo entered into eternal peace. Born October 24, 1920, Armida lived her 97 years in the Phoenix area. She died from complications of a hip fracture and dementia. She was born in Phoenix Arizona to Angelita Estrada Buelna and Ralph Buelna. Her childhood was spent on a ranch built by her father, a master carpenter. She was one of seven children. Armida is survived by her sister Stella Buelna who resides in Los Angeles California. She is preceded in death by her sister Edna Othon, brothers Robert, Edward, Louis, and Ralph Junior (Sonny Jim). Armida went to Phoenix Union high school and attended college for a brief time. She was a brilliant artist who was offered a job with Walt Disney. She married Rodolfo (Rudy) Redondo, who was laid to rest in March of 1963. Armida worked for the Phoenix Union school district for many years as a school secretary. As a widow, she raised three daughters on her own. Surviving daughters are Christina Lynn Redondo, Marta Elaine Redondo and Debra Marie Redondo Quinn. She was preceded in death by another daughter who died as an infant, also named Armida. Armida’s grandchildren are Jason and Scott Smith, Melissa Burggraf, Paul Burggraf (deceased), and Lance Corporal Zachary Quinn. Her great grandchildren are Allyson and Tristan Smith, children to Jason Smith, Mason and Xander Smith born to Scott Smith and Quinn Burggraf born to Melissa Burggraf. Armida was loved in life and is missed in death. She is out of pain and in God’s hands
