

He attended William J. Woodham High School in Pensacola, Florida and graduated June 1971 after which Willie Jr. began his career with the United States Air Force for 20 years and was honorably discharged in 1991. He also pursued a second career with the Leon County Sheriff's Department until his retirement in 2016.
Willie Jr. is preceded in death by his loving mother and father, Lillie B. Thames and Willie Thames, Sr. of Pensacola, Florida, his brother, Henry A. Thames, his step daughter, Leah A. Colston-Baker, his step son, Sgt. Nathan Aliganga USMC, of Tallahassee, Florida, and is survived by his loving wife and families.
He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend of 28 ½ years, Clara Aliganga, his dear daughter, Kesha White and husband, Jonas, his three dear sisters, Celestine McCorvey and husband, Jewell, Ernestine Thames, and Wanda Blackmon and fiancee, Michael, his brother, Gregory Thames and wife Etta, dear grandson, Tobi White, dear granddaughter, Sade White, his nieces and nephews and his most beloved fur baby, Pearly Poo. Willie also leaves behind his sister-in law, Mary C. McDowell and family, his son-in-law, Dexter Baker, dear granddaughter, Jasmyne Colston, dear grandsons, Shannon Colston III, Christopher Colston and wife, Brady, and Brandon Baker as well great-grandchildren: Zhi Betsey, Summer Colston, Weston Colston, Leo Colston and Delilah Colston.
The family would like to thank Big Bend Hospice for the great care and compassion they showed our beloved Willie in his final days.
A private memorial and interment services will be held at Tallahassee National Cemetery, Tallahassee, Florida. Date and time to be determined.

Your prayers brought my husband peace and comfort throughout these final days and gave me strength to walk this journey, knowing in my heart, that I did not walk this journey alone. Thank you Calvary Pastors, and church staff, Calvary family and all my long time dear, true and loving friends and my family for standing "watch" with me. Forever humbled, forever grateful, forever blessed by your prayers, love and support.
