Paul is a graduate of the University of Memphis, formerly Memphis State University, where he studied history and philosophy.
His first job as a film editor introduced him to the world of advertising and marketing where he combined his creativity, wit, intellect, and charm to enjoy a successful career in the fields of political consulting, banking, hospitality, manufacturing, and automotive sales.
After many years working in Memphis and Nashville, he moved to Boston, a city he adopted as his own. In retirement he moved to Apalachicola where he directed his skills and energy into volunteer activities as a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church vestry and as an acolyte, historic cemetery ghost walks, and local car shows. He found great joy in observing the shore birds at his home on the bay.
Paul is preceded in death by his father, Paul A. McAbee, step-father, Arnold Anthony (Hack) Sileo, and mother, Mary Jane Cleveland Sileo.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Kay Carson; sons, Michael McAbee (Tammy) and Clay McAbee; daughter, Anna Grace Carson (Juan Siliezar); grandchildren, Nicole and Frank; and sister, Ann Collins (Bob).
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Trinity Episcopal Church, Apalachicola on Friday, April 25 at 11 am. A reception in Benedict Hall will follow the service.
